  Who do you blame for the time you wasted as a DUB?

  think of all the time and energy you wasted sitting in meetings, going door to door and refraining from making friends and having enjoyable association with non dubs.

  think about how much of your finite life is lost to you because you were a witness.

  think about how foolish you looked, hanging on to the false teachings and empty hopes for the future.

  Lots of good points. Lots of valid arguments.
  
  Here is another thought. When one chooses to make a cake and follows the directions, if the reicpe is flawed and the cake turns out bad, would not one blame the one who wrote the recipe?
  
  We all had the "recipe" for godly life laid out for us to follow. The fact that the guidelines were flawed and based on inacurate information, should to some extent absolve us of some self guilt. After coming to know better, our choice to leave the org displays a spirit of sound mind and reason that led us to better choices.
  
  I feel it necessary to enlighten others to the truth about the "troof" and hope they can find the peace of mind I am making my own.

Think of how you hurt your children by holding them to the dub standards you were holding on to.
  
  
  Who was at fault? Who is to blame for your losses and pain?
  
  
  Do you blame your parents?
  
  Do you blame the org?
  
  Do you blame yourself?
  
  You made your decisions based on the infomation that was supplied to you by people you trusted. You chose to act a certain way because of that informaton.
  
  Obviously that information was faulty if not outright lies. Who is responsible for the losses suffered because you acted on misinformation?
  
  
  I blame myself for being too trusting. I blame the org for propigating lies and deceit. I blame my parents for believing the lies and shaming me into following submissively through my youth and young adulthood.
  
  
  What do we do now that the truth of our situation is revealed?
  
  Understand why what was done, was done. Move on with our lives and make the best of a bad situation.
  
  Not all of the after effects of the "choices" we made due to "misinformation" are bad. I for one am proud of the level of personality morality I came away form the dubs with. I hold my standards high in matters of right and wrong. I hold fast to the "Golden Rule".
  
  One thing that holds true, as far as blame goes is, wasting time pointing fingers and dwelling on what can't be undone is futile. I din't have the time or inclination to loose sleep over it. My revenge will come at a time and place of my chosing, in a manner that will bring me the most satisfaction with the least effort.
  
  
  One day I hope to forgive myself for what I put Sheila and my kids through.
  
  Today I live for them, for my friends and for myself.
  
  I insist on being happy in spite of who is to blame.

  CJ,
  It really does and once your head is comfy, you don't move. It is also a great advantage in a pillow fight. I would suggest you pad the flooring around the bed before the pillow fight though, five pounds of buckwheat at velocity has been known to propell opponents from the mattress to the floor. Just ask Sheila.

  The mess is mostly cleaned up, there are however reminders. For instance the stray buckwheat hulls I found in my socks this morning. I hope they're not in anything else. That might prove uncomfortable.

  !!!!!Warning!!!! BBQ's Melt??!!!!!!

  well since thunder has started the thread on sheila's latest caper and the buckwheat pillow i thought i'd add our family dilemma that happened this weekend.. xjw_b12 was put in charge of starting our barbeque for steaks on saturday.

  i have told him in the past ('and of course, like the typical husband doesn't listen to what the wifey pooh is saying") that i noticed flames coming out of the bottom of the barbeque which i realized through past lightings you then have to make sure the "venturi" connects with the "regulator control" as there is massive amounts of gas being released and you have these major flames coming out of the bottom of the barbeque.. so he goes out to start the bbq that day, lets it go for about 15 minutes and then goes out with the steaks, notices a little bit more flame than usual but ignores it.

  i thought everything was fine until he came in and told me that the barbeque was burning a little on the slow side and the steaks would take a little longer.

  You really must hava a talk with the boy. Creating a hostile enviroment for steaks is surely a punishable offense.

  one of the very real dangers that we face today is the population explosion.

  i read that the world's population "now" doubles about every 40 years,

  this explosive rate is like cancer,, that no longer follows the proper cell multiplication arrangement in the body and threatens the life of the organism.

  That anyone could even attempt to argue in favor of ending the life of innocents is beyond me, no beneath me. Choosing to behave in a way that spawns life brings the responsibility to care for and cherish said life. There are couples out there that have to take fertility treatments in the hope of experiencing the blessings of pregnancy, child rearing and family. That some have total disdain for the same disgusts me.

  If I don't want to be hit by a car, I don't play in the street. I make a conscious choice based on common sense. Sex can and often does lead to pregnancy. If you don't want the kid, don't engage in the act, or at least use a friggin rubber!

  Make your excuses, explain it away any way you want. In the end right will always be right.
